Christian Cutters--

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.--Romans 12:4-5

"Often known as "cutters", people who self-mutilate repetitively intentionally inflict bodily harm on themselves. When you ask a "cutter", "Doesn't that hurt?" the answer is usually no. A person who is actively self-mutilating often does not report feeling pain, but rather a sense of relief, release, calm, or satisfaction. It is particularly alarming that self-mutilation appears to have a "contagious" effect among peer groups"

Inflicting injury by mutilating their very own body brings them a sense of relief and satisfaction; it is an outlet for their pain. They are so full of pain that the only way to release some of the pressure is to cut open a member of their very own body. A cutter causes pain to relieve pain. Somehow it makes their heart feel better to hurt their body.

I want to show you a parrallel between "cutters" and gossips; self-mutilators and busy bodies. We are the body of Christ--when we tear one another down with our words or actions we are mutilating the body of Christ. Cutting His heart, destroying OURSELVES!!--Somehow in our hurt we "justify" our words as we spew out bitterness and pride. With each vicious word we are ripping the body of our Lord. He was crucified and beaten once, let's not rip His body open again, in order to release our pinned up anger and emotions.

Stop detroying the BODY!! The world is watching...they are lost and if we can't LOVE and RESPECT one another why would they want what we have...Just because you get your feelings hurt doesn't mean you have a GOOD reason to inflict pain and often times ETERNAL damage!

If you don't have something uplifting to say about a fellow Christian--(OR JUST A HUMAN BEING)...just keep your mouth shut--put your razor back in your pocket. And don't say, "Their not really a Christian anyway!" That's really not for you to judge-- Your opinion doesn't determine a persons Christianity, but your words showcase yours!!!

Just Bb...
